I attended a two-week summer camp on entrepreneurship that offered hands-on experience in creating a business and pitching a unique idea. My group developed "EASE," a mental health subscription box tailored to users' needs by partnering with local therapy clinics to provide stress-relief tools. The camp’s location was fantastic—both scenic and stimulating—enhancing the creative process. I also got to attend lectures by successful entrepreneurs, including the founder of BOMBA, now valued at $100 million, whose journey underscored the importance of resilience and adaptability in business. Working on EASE deepened my understanding of building products with impact, especially for something as personal as mental health.
The camp was also a preview of college life, from experiencing dorm living to managing my own schedule and study time. Making friends from around the world added a social dimension that broadened my outlook and made learning even more enriching. The sense of independence and responsibility I gained was incredibly rewarding. I’m excited to bring this practical knowledge, newfound resilience, and collaborative spirit into my future college journey.
